Eight Firehouse Teams To Compete in Chili Cook-Off
For South Lake Fire Safe Council Fire Prevention Awareness
Eight firehouse teams will vie for best chili at South Lake County Fire Safe Council’s annual fund-raiser Saturday, September 8, from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Pine Grove Resort on Cobb Mountain.
“This is our third chili cook-off,” said David Henderson, president of South Lake Fire Safe Council. “Last year, the Eagle Field Fire team beat out Boggs Helitack firefighters for best chili. We expect intense competition this year.

“Live music will again be provided by the popular California Cowboys band,” Henderson said. “BBQ tri-tip
and chicken will be catered by Creekside Deli of Cobb.”

The popular local group "California Cowboys" will headline entertainment during the Chili Cookoff.

Swimming in Pine Grove Resort’s pool, dancing, wine, raffles, door prizes and live auction will add to the family-friendly festivities.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children. Adult tickets include two drink coupons. Due to the size of the event venue, seating is limited.

Advance tickets are available at the Olive Tree Salon and Spa, Middletown ; The Creekside Deli, Cobb; and Loch Lomond Mail Express, Loch Lomond.

Will-call tickets can be held for pick up at the event by sending a check or money order to Chili Cook-off, c/o South Lake Fire Safe Council, P.O. Box 1773 , Middletown , CA., 95461.
